oddly enough, bahasa malaysia is so in rite now. it has become a cool thing.
and what makes it even weirder is that the language is being used in a proper grammar order. one example that i can think of is when someone is to comment on the deliciousness of a food, previously they would simply say, "best giler". now, the expression changed to, "sangat sedap". i know it shouldn't be a problem. and i should have been proud that more and more malaysian is using our first language but it bothers me a bit knowing that this is only a trend. it is used more often not because of the love of the language but because everybody is using it. in daily conversation and even by those upper middle class and yuppies. it will disappear sooner or later without us knowing it. just remember to treasure our heritage: the language, the custom and the culture (p/s: the most important reminder to yours truly :P).
