running

and yet again, i'm referring to my previous entry: run, on the jogging part, that is... i love to run. no matter how bad my day is and no matter how big my problem is, the feeling after a long run is quite pleasant. running keeps me sane. it takes my mind off things. and especially having a very supportive running partner, to run is something very much that i'm looking forward to, either in the early morning or late evening after work. and here, i've decided that i won't quit running as yet. will keep on running as long as my body permits ;). plus, i need to make my finisher's medals collection bigger, rite? and to add the full marathon finisher's t-shirt as well, huh? *wink*wink*

p/s: it's official, december 2009 has the most posts in a month since i've started to actively blog. 8 entries and counting... will i post another entry tomorrow? we'll see :P

clutter

i am a clutter-free person. very neat and tidy. perfectionist? not so much :P.

nway, i am in midst of cleaning up the house. there are lots of stuff. i mean really a lot. the mom kept everything, from old school books to pre-historic computer peripherals. she said they are too sentimental to be thrown away. but ma, there's no use and space, what i said being rebellious :P. since i am very good at justifying the reason to do the things that need to be done (after preparing lots of proposal papers for projects at the office *wink*wink*), finally managed to persuade the mom of letting go some of the junk, hehehe... but there's still plenty to be done. with the help from the bunny, since i'm very much allergic to dust, we got to clean up half of the area. time is ticking and i hope we can finish everything up in time before new year *fingers cross*.

challenge

been challenging myself to put a pause on something that i've routinely/actively done, facebooking via mobile phone or in other word mobile facebooking. i usually facebooking while waiting for someone or something, while waiting for the food at the restaurant and even while waiting for the green light on the road. i'm easily bored, i know, hehehe... it was never easy to quit. it was real hard. on the bright side, after over a week on the challenge i would say that i can live without it. have to find some other non-annoying and informative hobby that is. reading perhaps *really?* ;)

train

travel by train? haven't done that in ages, locally that is. i went to singapore with the bunny, sis n cuz and the running buddies. the rest travelled by air while the four of us took the night train. traveling in pyjamas. cool huh?

*the cuz n sis in the train ready to sleep ;)

nevertheless, this very trip to singapore is somewhat an elaborate one. one part was for standard chartered singapore marathon. and the other was sightseeing baby! i was able to see more of singapore as if i'm a true tourist. we went to lots of tourist spots namely merlion park and sentosa island and less of shopping time. as per my previous post: runaway, to shop in singapore is not meaningful. prices are still much cheaper in malaysia. i didn't buy anything for myself apart from some chocolates that are hard to find in kl. love them to bits *yummy*. if only i brought bigger bag and if only i've booked the baggage allowance for the return flight, i would most definitely buy more of these delicious chocs! lesson learned right? :P

*some of us with our scsm finisher medals

oh btw, rucksack inn, the hostel that we've stayed was truely awesome!

true

where can i find true love? the question is always playing in our mind including myself. have i found mine? silly question i must admit :P. the question struck me when i browsed through my previous post titled love. i just bored maybe. or scared perhaps. i just can't think straight. ignore me :P

road

first time ever in my life i've broken over 5 road rules in less than 5 minutes, which includes went through no entry & no u-turn signs and ran over the red light. not proud of it though :P. crazy? maybe but not really. it's a public holiday and since its eid, not so many peeps were in town except my family that is, hehehe...

our family don't really celebrate eid adha as much as eid fitr. it should have been the other way round.  but it's the tradition :P. even since my dad was still around, we seldom go back to my parents' hometown, neither perak nor kelantan during eid adha. plus, this year's was even lamer since my grandma is in kl. so no point of us going back to kb. but last year's was great though. we did something different. very impromptu. my mom, younger bro, 2 sis and i decided to go for a roadtrip to taiping, celebrating eid with my dad's cousins. on our way there, we had a pitstop at teluk intan. visiting my dad's hometown and his family's resting place. and i must admit, i miss them so much esp my papa...

anywho, since my grandma is here, we had a small get-together at my house. my mom and aunts had a pot luck and surprisingly a lot of food was on the table waiting to be eaten by us the hungry fellows :P. after the feast, i've decided to go out with my sisters, away from the gossip monsters in da house, hahaha!!!

big

a big spender that is. little miss hunny spent some fortune in less than 12 hours. why, u ask? she's lonely that's why. no one's home. bunny's not around. mates not in town. hmm, what else can she do? shop til drop is the answer LOL. note to the bunny, never let this chick go shopping by herself again. never ever :P

p/s: she managed to grab something to revamp her entire closet (exaggerating :P). something good rite? hehehe...

miss

lately am missing the stuff while i was away. prolly because it's almost christmas. and prolly because i just got back from the holiday that has brought back the memories of something not malaysian... the most is the weather of course. secondly am so missing starbucks' mint signature hot chocolate that only came out during christmas season. not sure they still have it though. also missing the shopping spree when everybody was in the mood and busy with christmas shopping and myself to include *guilty* :P.

i loved to shop at boots. especially collecting the points and the bonus points that you can redeem and get a bunch of cool stuff for free. i repeat FREE... i remember once i redeemed my most favourite perfume in the world: clinique happy in bloom with the points and only had to wait a couple of months collecting the points to get it free. loved it so much.

nevermind that. am not gonna live in the past. am so loving the present and would hope the future gonna be much much better...

fashion

i would prefer not to follow much of the latest fashion. i'm not a fashionista. and i wouldn't say that i'm a trendsetter. i just prefer to wear something that is not worn by the most. that's just me ;). anywho, eventhough i'll always go for the classic look, i still look out for what's in and not. what i like the most about autumn/winter collection is that they have great selection of long sleeves tops. something that i can just pull off without having to do the layering. something that is not so great in the hot & humid weather, huh...

hidden

too many hidden charges... that's what i can say about thailand. firstly people say tipping isn't compulsory but is well-practiced everywhere. a big as if! it is actually in the top of the to-do list. no tip means no service. well, as a former waitress at a restaurant i do understand that a tip is something that you're waiting for after a well great service given. but still, it is not something you should expect if you don't deserve it, rite? and especially when we didn't even ask for the service but yet we are expected to give the tips. that's so uncool...

nway, i just got back from a trip to bangkok and pattaya with the little brothers and their gf. great time that we've had apart from the suck tour guide (pardon my delicate french, hehehe...). how can a travel agency expects someone who is non-english and non-malay spoken to guide us in a country that only speaks thai except for the usuals "same same" and "no good" :P and most importantly writes in non-roman characters? and when the guide only knows to guide us to expensive places and those explicit shows. but what the heck, we've survived. have the most splendid time at the shopping haven. wish that we've got the fortune to spend more at the markets. great stuff they have. will definitely go back, no doubt *wink*wink*

oh btw, i've done another thing that's in the to-do list: parasailing. cool ain't it, hehehe...

sabah

just got back from one of the most exciting trips of my life. the itinerary went like this. saturday am: our flight to kk. went straight to masjid negeri sabah for work event after checking in at the hotel. sunday am: borneo run, started and ended at stadium likas (prolly one of the best run tracks to date). sunday pm: island hopping. tea break at pasar malam and dinner with very elaborate seafood selection. monday am: white water rafting at sg padas (my first time rafting and one of the things in my to-do list *wink*wink*). monday pm: dinner at pasar malam with smaller scale of seafood selection. tuesday am: jalan-jalan at kk town. tuesday pm: our journey to kundasang. wednesday am: poring hot spring. wednesday pm: back to kk, flight back to kl and the end of our trip :(

*white water rafting at sg padas
there were few dramas involved in the trip. love the most is the so-called "15-minutes drama - the series of unfortunate events". it was hilarious indeed, the things that no one can imagine happened in a very short period. here how's the story goes:

we were on our way to kundasang from kk. rent 3 cars: 2 wiras and an iswara. just a few miles before reaching kundasang, one of the wiras stopped. the engine only managed to start after a couple of minutes. we continued our journey. at that time, the other wira has arrived at the destination. meanwhile, only a few steps to reached the town, the very same wira had a flat tyre. fortunately iswara was there to assist. the funny story starts here. quoted from hanis, "how many people does it take to change a flat tyre? three guys!". three hunky(?) guys from both cars tried to change the flat tyre. why three? rusty bits from the tyre rim, very old car jack and a worn spare tyre. nonsense, rite? nway, the rain suddenly pour while we were changing the tyre. and the drama continues... fixed the tyre then one of the nuts literally broke. we were almost broke to tears laughing. nway, the drama didn't finish there. we've reached at the nearby workshop. then we moved to another workshop as the first one can't repair the broken nut. while the car was moving, my door actually flung open and almost hit the car parked at the front. to add, i didn't even wear the seat belt at that time and was laughing throughout the time i pull the door back hoping i didn't fell out of the car. and funny thing is i can't even remember when i opened the door. prolly we were so excited recalling the story while waiting that i forgot to close the door. silly me :P.

apparently, i've used over 3 times saying the word indeed for this particular drama, hehehe...

relay

the first relay run for yours truly and the first run after ramadhan n eid long break. the relay is based on 5-members team passing the sash and the total run is 15km. although it was only 3km a piece, it was a tremendously exhausting run. prolly because i just recovered from food poisoning, prolly because of the heat and most prolly because of the route at my zone was a hilly one. or maybe i was just being plain lazy to run :P. whatever the reason is, i managed to grab another finisher's medal thanks to my teammates: warie, N, hazel and our anchorman, luqman (my colleague whom interested to join after many times saw my growing medal collection *wink*wink*). btw, our team name was unique indeed. it's mawar berduri, taken from leader's name and berduri is referring to luqman, the only man in the team. what can i say is that the run can be considered as a training for borneo run next week. kota kinabalu, here we come! *very excited*

bitchy

i've never been so bitchy in my life until this very roadtrip, which initially was from kb to kl but ended up as the trip from hell. NOT! just exaggerating, hehehe... was not that bad to begin with. maybe the exhaustion made me become a bit harsh, hahaha!!!

me, my two sisters and my cousin was on our way back to kl. we've took the wrong route back and used the farther route. it may be longer but very calming as it was the coastal route. after reaching kuala terengganu, we've decided to stay one nite at cherating as my cousin's parents are staying there. on our way, we've made some pitstops. the first was a beach at kt. very nice indeed. then we continued our journey and made some other stops to buy some keropok lekor, for toilet break and pray. the things that pissed me off was the waste of time waiting for the cousin to get back to the car to continue the journey. every single time. it was already dark when we almost reached cherating and there was no signboard of the direction and the road was pitch dark. the rain started to pour to make things worse. nevermind that, we reached the destination eventually only after 10 hours drive from kb :P

eid

another eid celeb, another batch of new dresses? prolly not for me. and again, i go for recycling, mix and match to be precise. and voila! they became new dresses. clever, ain't it? as i didn't spend any money on my attire, i have made some enhancement to ryan and very much impress with it. he now has a new set of tyres and sports rim, a couple of side moulding and a new set of wipers. well, ryan wants to beraya too, rite? :P

this eid would prolly be the most relaxing one i had. not many houses to visit as some of the relatives didn't come back to kb. i just stayed at home watching the tele. well, i was really busy before eid break and didn't have any time to rest. so i've used this chance to get back what i've missed ;)

marathon

marathon during fasting month? that's so not gonna happen. i'll try to run on the treadmill though. WILL try to find the time, hehehe... nway, what i meant by marathon was movie marathon. since i don't usually go anywhere on the weekend during ramadhan, i spend the extra free time watching the dvds at home. and in just two weekends, i've watched 10 movies and counting :P

Saturday, August 29, 2009

twenty-eight

another 2 years to go before i reach the big THREE O! in the mean time, i'll enjoy the last few moments being in the twenties *wink*wink*. so liking it. prepared the list on what to do before you reach 30. will not reveal it as yet as it'll spoil the suprises :P. but for now, i'm so gonna do one of the things in the list in oct. just wait and see ;)

btw, this year is the first time i'm celebrating my bday in the month of ramadhan. and this year is the first time i'm celebrating the bday with special someone after years of being single :P. so loving it. but i doubt i gonna get anything from him though. well, dinner for two is definitely more than enough *loveliness*.

ramadhan

ramadhan has lost its meaning, to some malaysian that is. kuih raya is sold even before ramadhan starts and raya songs started to play at shopping malls on the first few days of fasting month. and the things that i dislike the most is the act of gluttony by some. shouldn't the devil be locked up during the holy month? i doubt so. or else, bazaar ramadhan, buffet table at hotels and restaurants for break fast and the likes that make you waste your money and time wouldn't existed. what is happening to the world?

as such, we have to change. we ought to serve the poor and the needy and remind ourselves
for once or at least for a month that we don't live forever in this world. we should start saving up for the next life and for the better good...

korea

i supposed i'm a sucker of anything korean. not exactly anything. just anything korean that makes me feel happy. there's few korean movies and tv series that i love, namely, my little bride (the movie) and my girl (the tv series). don't know why but i can watch them over and over again. never tired of them. i even played the dvd in my notebook while doing my work. watching the dvd without viewing it. crazy, ain't it? hehehe... but i can live with it. cos i know what exactly is happening without understand so much of the language :P

nway, i've made a pact with the bunny to study korean (the language) in 2 years time and we'll fly to korea (the country) if and only if i succeeded. so excited! will of course bring along my sisters esp the one who is so obsessed with anything korean. she is, honest! well, in the mean time, gonna continue with the dvd watching. later dudes n dudettes!

bahasa

oddly enough, bahasa malaysia is so in rite now. it has become a cool thing.

and what makes it even weirder is that the language is being used in a proper grammar order. one example that i can think of is when someone is to comment on the deliciousness of a food, previously they would simply say, "best giler". now, the expression changed to, "sangat sedap". i know it shouldn't be a problem. and i should have been proud that more and more malaysian is using our first language but it bothers me a bit knowing that this is only a trend. it is used more often not because of the love of the language but because everybody is using it. in daily conversation and even by those upper middle class and yuppies. it will disappear sooner or later without us knowing it. just remember to treasure our heritage: the language, the custom and the culture (p/s: the most important reminder to yours truly :P).

burned

burned, by the sun that is... extra strength. from two events in less than two weeks. one was from tioman island escapade and the other was from roadtrip to kuantan for digi run at teluk cempedak. coincidentally, both events were actually the third for each category. tioman was my third island breakaway and digi run was the third run that i've actually entered and ran. and both of them gave me the weirdest and shiniest tan that i've ever had :P. i hope this is the darkest i could go. can't stand the brightness of my round eyes everytime i looked into the mirror, hahaha!!!

btw, i really had a great time at tioman. went there with my bro and his mates. the trip wasn't filled with harsh activities apart from the boat ride for island snorkeling trip, which was WET indeed. so wet that we were drenched even before we get the chance to jump into the sea :P. all in all, it was such a relaxing 4 days and 3 nites for me. i even had to take another day off to get the right mood for work mode *thanks boss*.

*the bro and his mates

on the other hand, the roadtrip to kuantan was such an exhausting one. rite after i went back to work from the holiday to the island, i had to work very hard. for 3 days, work started at 8am and it ended at 12 midnite. no kidding! i didn't even get the chance to train for the run, hence the poor performance *excuses*. well, not really :P. if only i was prepared and had good nite sleeps, i would assume i could manage to get away with better result. i stopped 3 times during the run, which i never done before. i'd never stop during training and real run. i just can't stand the haze and the scorching heat. and the lack of energy gave me no choice but to take a breather. but the trip was not all that bad. the cool breeze from the beach and the picturesque scenery cleared up my mind for a bit ;)

complicated

life's complicated. too much drama. too many obstacles. too bad we just have to get over it, rite?

enough of that. i've entered the second run yesterday: standard chartered kl marathon 2009 at dataran merdeka. and again, i didn't signed up for the marathon, and not even half marathon (not yet, that is :P). it was only for 10km and the time, 1 hour and 12 minutes. quite a good one but was hoping for 2 minutes lesser though... what need to be done? train, train and more train. and eat, eat and eat a lot more, hahaha!!!

btw, i've bought my new pair of running gear last week: adidas gazelle 365 in cyan. they are simply gorgeous. still haven't got the chance to break in them yet though. have to wait for the next run then. kuantan, here we come *wink*wink*

*the finisher medal i've got from scklm 2009

decisions

i've completed my first run yesterday: new balance klang pacers 1/2 marathon at setia alam. but mind u i only entered 11km and finished in 1 hour and 19 minutes. a satisfactory achievement, i might say *grin*. could have been better but i settled with the result, for now... LOL.

*with the medals that we've won

btw, the post-run analysis on what need to be improved: more training, proper stretching and last but not least, new pair of shoes! hehehe... the latter is only something that i want but don't really need (oh, really? :P). i might have to give a deep thought on that one. they cost a fortune and there are so many choices. at the moment, 3 models have caught my eyes. one is nike free 3.0, two nike lunartrainer+ and three adidas gazelle 365. decisions, decisions...

runaway

still don't get it why people willing to travel all the way to singapore to shop when they can get real bargain right here in malaysia. i might agree if the currency exchange is attractive. but SGD1 at RM2.41 is not something that agreeable. u may find some cool designs that is not available in malaysia but to add the additional expenses to the costing is so not cool to someone as calculative as me, hehehe...

by the way, i went to the land of the lion over the weekend. not to shop, i have to remind u :P, but to become kl running team official photographer *wink*wink*. a bunch of friends entered saucony 100plus passion run 2009 at singapore. since i didn't get the chance to register for the run, i volunteered to take their running pics. a bit exhausting though since it's not all running. we did some browsing, touring, shopping and food hunting. but still a great experience since the last time i went there was in 1996. 13 years, a lot have changed...

move

i'm moving again tomorrow, to a new office, that is. my new workstation will be located in menara tm itself. pros: 1. i can buy bread from the kiosk easily. 2. nearer to the lrt station, which means i can have my lunch at kl sentral whenever i want without having to think twice or more. but have to think what to eat as there are more choices to choose from, hehehe... cons: 1. my office is located at the 41st floor, longer in the elevator. me no likey :P. 2. i still have to park my car at tm annexe, which means i have to walk farther to get to the office. wait a minute, this is actually a good thing as it is one part of the exercises regime that i like, walking!

nway, speaking of the subject move, fyi to the people out there, i've moved on. i'm happy now. no, i'm the happiest person in the world. why, u ask? i just am. i have the best people around me. they are the greatest human-beings anyone can ask for as their family and friends. i'm just grateful especially to the one person who has been the best companion, my battery *wink*wink*. i love you all!

sick

being sick is somewhat seems unreal to me. the last time i've got a cold was over a year ago and i didn't know what to do now. should i go to the clinic or should i just stay at home resting? the high temperature making its harder to decide :P

somehow, at this point of time, i realized that God created diseases to remind us that every now and then, there are hiccups in life. and that hiccups are meant to keep us on track. if everything went well, we will definitely won't be extra cautious in life, right? we will think that we are so great that we don't need a guidance from anyone. just be grateful of what we have now. being arrogant won't do us good. a friendly reminder from recovering yours truly, hehehe...

impression

first impression might not be accurate. but the experience i had while in indonesia might deem to be true. a total of 8 days and 6 nites in jakarta and surabaya had led me to believe that indonesian are easily charaterised by their look. the fair looking people are usually rich while the darker ones are most likely to be poor. not to judge people by its cover or being narrow-minded, but the observation had led me to make such decision. well, i just have to go to indonesia again to confirm, hehehe...

nway, i just got back from surabaya, the second indonesian city i've visited this year. i had a blast apart from the motion sickness i've to endure from hours of travelling in the car. the 5 days 4 nites trip was such an extreme one. but the experince exploring mt ijen, mt bromo and surabaya itself is priceless. it was such a trip to be remembered. will consider to go there again if time and most importantly money permits, *wink*wink*.

impromptu

i'm well full of surprises. never like to plan anything. just go with the flow. well yeah, i'm just sick and tired of planning cos i still think that i'm jinx at it :P

so nway, the latest impromptu actions that i recently did was firstly, clean up my messy room, extremely clean it, which i haven't done in over a year. the room was in such a disasterous condition. the dust is everywhere, every single inch of the room. it took me one full day to make it dust-free and most importantly SAFE to be in, hehehe... the second thing i did was getting myself a set of braces. shock ain't it? i never think that i would wear them again after the pain and agony that i've to endure when i wore them 8 years ago. but hey, it was totally unplanned! i only went to the dentist for a routine check-up and suddenly the idea strucked in my mind to ask about the orthodontic treatment. and after 4, i mean FOUR of my GOOD tooth were taken out, now i look like the cutest nerd ever *wink*wink*. finally, but most definitely not least, i bought myself a handbag, during lunch. it costs dearly but well worth it. talk about the most expensive lunch i've had in my life, hahaha!!!

breakaway

just got back from a vacation with my little sisters. this time around it was outside msia that i haven't done for nearly 2 years. the place was jakarta, indonesia. it was somewhat great apart from the traffic in the city, which was way beyond unbelievable. the locals simply use the horn just like we use the signal to alert the other road users. a piece of advise: if you're an acousticophobic or simply short-tempered, please be extra precautious. or else...

nway, the great thing about being in indonesia is that your money stretches like no one's business, hehehe... we've spent like we've won a lottery. services are so cheap. taxi ride was just like a bus ride in msia. the downside of it is that designer stuff is still expensive. more expensive than that in msia, that is. whatever it is, i will still consider another trip to indonesia but most definitely not to jakarta. will try bali or bandung for the next round of vacation to the country.

and... i can't wait for my next holiday in november or sooner *wink*wink*.

love

love. what is love? it can be a beautiful experience. it can be hurtful. it can be an unbearable feeling. it all depends on how u see and perceive it. love is so unpredictable and the turnout can be somewhat unexpected. why? because of love, a devil can change and become an angel and because of love an angel can become a devil. we never know what will happen until we've fell in love... until we acted foolishly and until we've become someone not us...

true love comes from the heart. heart is one delicate tool. once it's touched, it'll take ages to forget. and once it's broken, it'll take forever to mend. be careful with it. don't ever fool with someone else's heart. it hurts.

p/s: i've always love this quotation taken from the movie love story: "love means never having to say you're sorry"

cook

believe it or not, i have not cooked a proper meal for nearly 2 whole years. yup, it's 23 months and 23 days to be exact. something that is so true but i'm not proud of :P

to be honest, cooking is my least favourite thing to do. on the contrary, i enjoyed doing it especially knowing that your meal made someone else's day. however, i would put baking on the top of the list, still. i've baked the loveliest chocolate cake ever, as quoted by my mates that is *wink*wink*

*the gorgeous chocolate cake prepared by moi ;)

my most favourite home-made dishes would be lasagne and tiramisu: italian by origin but perfected by malaysian, hehehe... since i'm back here, i have not been able to recreate the magic. reasons being: firstly, there aren't any proper utensils available at my mom's place. secondly and the most important factor would be the cost of the raw materials, which is way beyond unbelievable. imagine a pot of mascarpone cheese that only cost 1 pound in the uk would cost rm24 right here in msia, which is roughly 4 times more expensive. that's ridiculous, ain't it? so, that's why i've put a pause to my cooking and baking skills and really hoping it won't get rusty when i have to put my chef hat on again when the time comes, hehehe...

craving

i have always been a sweet tooth. a huge one, to be honest, hehehe... i love chocolates. i love desserts and i love anything sweet.

nway, i've been craving for some chocolates lately. but can't seem to find the time to search for good ones. and to make things worse, i can't even find one of my fave cadbury chocs - crunchie these days. what happened to good old pure chocs? i wonder...

suprised! that's the right word. a friend of mine unexpectedly bought me a lompat tikam, a traditional kelantanese dessert, which i love so much and been craving for quite some time. it consists of red sticky rice, green pandan custard, white thick coconut cream and black gula melaka (brown sugar). yeah, it's colourful and it tastes heavenly. i absolutely adore it. thanks, mate. it was so sweet of you. i love it to bits and i owe you big time *wink*wink*

assume

read between the lines. then you'll understand the whole story. but still, that wasn't always the case. sometimes, when laziness struck, we always skipped and went straight to the exciting scenes. and ignoring the less exciting but can actually be the most important parts. in the end, what we thought that's the way the story goes isn't the actual fact all along. no point regretting it now, rite?

we always assume the typicality. including yours truly, as guilty as charged :P. maybe we've got it from experience. or maybe we're just being plain stubborn, hehehe... everybody/thing deserve second chances, no matter how old-fashioned, lame or pathetic it may seems.

new

new year, new me. oh, so i wish... a more confident, more outspoken, more vibrant and more colourful me. can i? we'll just have to wait and see, won't we? hehehe...

but still, meeting someone new is rather frightening and difficult. not because i'm not ready. prolly because i'm scared. prolly because i think it's just a joke. i don't want to waste my time. and i'm not strong enough to take the risk. but whatever it is, i will still go with the flow *wink*wink*.

nway, happy new year to all. wishing and hoping all of us will be blessed with good fortune and luck!
